We went in at 3pm on a Friday. Had the Old Timer (chopped steak). It was delicious. The mac n cheese and mashed potatoes were very tasty. We weren't a fan of the green beans, but it was just a personal preference. Service was good and attentive. Atmosphere was quaint and there weren't a lot of people. Bathroom could have been cleaner though. Overall, a recommend.

We've been here a couple of times when we're in town. We have a big family & both times they have been able to accommodate us with no issues. Friendly staff, they answered all our questions & even made some suggestions. The Sunday buffet was delicious, I think it's brunch!

Nice homey comfy diner experience. Some of the seats are actual church pews. Food was good and just the right price. Enjoyed the "grandma's feel" of the place. Can't wait to go back.

My husband and I had lunch on 2/10/25 - we had a very pleasant and delicious lunch. I enjoyed a chicken fried steak lunch with a very fresh salad. The hubs raved about his double meat cheeseburger. Generous amount of fries. Service was excellent. Both Hunter and Chris were our servers. This was our first time dining there since the remodel. We will be back!!

We’ve been dining at Simmer Down since they opened in Georgetown. Prior to Gordon Ramsay’s visit we had hit-or-miss experiences. Our family decided to give them another try after watching Kitchen Nightmares, and we were impressed with the quality of the food and the atmosphere. My sirloin steak was delicious and cooked perfectly, the baked potato and green beans were tea good too (thanks Squirrel!). Thanks Chris for the selfie. You’re a celebrity in Georgetown now!

Stopped here on a Sunday morning, not realizing they do buffets on sundays. Fine by me. Everything was good, but the service & friendliness of the staff is what really shines. They were more than helpful, checked in multiple times, even offered me items that were on the menu & not on the buffet. Excellent experience I was not expecting. Everything was “sir”, “thank you sir”, etc. I’ll definitely keep this place in mind next time I’m in Georgetown!

Chef Ramsey spent a week here at this restaurant a month or two ago. The staff told us the redesign was achieved overnight once they started it. The restaurant is beautiful. They were packed this morning, so service was a little slower than normal probably, but still very good. And the food was excellent. We will definitely be back.
